Product Manager - CLAAS Tractors

Landpower and our CLAAS Harvest Centre network is the largest privately-owned farm machinery distribution network in Australasia, servicing primary producers and agricultural contractors from 32 strategic locations throughout Australia and New Zealand and Australia. Our Melbourne and Christchurch offices co-ordinate wholesale activities and support functions across Australia and New Zealand, and each of our CLAAS Harvest Centres is a regional sales, service and support hub for the complete range of CLAAS and other leading farm machinery brands. Following the recent progression of our Tractor Product Manager into an exciting new leadership role, we are looking for our next expert to lead Product Management throughout Australia for our PREMIUM, market leading CLAAS Tractor range, championing our market intelligence; ensuring our teams are equipped through education and support; and managing a product strategy and programme that ensures the right products are available at the right time, and at the right price.
Specific focusses of the role include:
- Annual strategic planning cycle for the Tractor product range
- Collaboration with our Marketing function in the development of strategy for the wide range product-marketing channels available
- Handling of supplier negotiation and sales order planning
- Expert-level assessment of product specification to ensure alignment with customer demands
- Continually reviewing conditions and competitor activity, and adjusts pricing to ensure optimum profitability and improved market-share
- Capably managing the process of introducing new products
- Providing national support across our network and customer base
As our preferred candidate, you’ll already be well-embedded in the Agricultural market, with expert product knowledge in Tractors (even better if it’s high horsepower, EVEN BETTER if it’s CLAAS gear!). In tune with your market, you’re a capable strategic thinker, who knows where the opportunities are to boost the utilisation and performance of our products. You’ll have a genuine passion for enriching the experiences our customers have with our equipment, alongside being a capable and inspiring leader who can take our Tractor product team on their own journeys of professional growth. With your solid communication skills and desire to promote and market our products, you’ll be a natural in front of our customers and committed to forming relationships.
This position is based from our Melbourne (Altona) offices with occasional travel. We are a modern workplace, where flexible practices are embraced, but with a strong culture and team comradery that you’ll enjoy being around and amongst. We welcome enquiries from those considering relocation either domestically or from abroad, and will provide a comprehensive relocation support package, and direct assistance for those requiring a Visa to live and work in Australia. Although this is a permanent role, if our preferred candidate is seeking more of a working experience in Australia for 2-3 years, we are also able to consider a Fixed Term type of employment arrangement.
